Re: Perovsky's 1839 winter campaign returning to Orenburg without having fired a single shot. This is simply not true. There were at least two major engagements at Al-Bulak, one on Dec. 30, 1839 and the other on Jan. 1, 1840, and probably other skirmishes. Cf., for example Zakhar'in, I.N. Graf V.A. Perovskii i ego zimnii pokhod v Khivu. S.-Peterburg : Tip. P.P. Soikina, 1901 and also Russian Wikipedia. Ktolpygo (talk) 20:15, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Qungrat dynasty

[edit]

Could anyone add more information on that topic, please? I'm trying to find more details about it but I can't find any background on them nor the change of a dynasty, except that they also claimed descent from Genghis Khan (online Britannica, can't read the full article). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 179.7.221.218 (talk) 09:16, 20 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • [*[Khanate of Khiva]*], click Pyccky at left, ruler list at bottom. If you can't do Russian, download Chrome/ search Chrome Store/ search extensions/ find translate/ download / button now at top right. Be careful with anything like 'of' since case endings can be wrong with foreign names. I can check if necessary. (none of my Turkestan books has a history of Khiva.)Benjamin Trovato (talk) 06:34, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
