It's good that Libraries Tasmania has made Hayter's diary available and that Littlecessna172 read and digested it (or parts of it). But it's painfully hard to read. For each reference to the diary, it would be helpful if Littlecessna172 provided the page number(s) within the scan. -- Hoary (talk) 23:27, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That was fast work! Thank you. Though you might wish to use a named reference for the diary, and add Template:Rp to each use of it. Incidentally (or not), Littlecessna172, are all six references to Patchwork Prisoners: The Rajah Quilt and the women who made it really to its page 26? If yes they are, it's OK as is; but if not, then again you can take the page number out of the citation tag (and thus out of the reference), and follow each reference to that book with "{{Rp|page=107}}" or whatever. (I should add that Template:Rp is not popular among many experienced editors. I'm not recommending it everywhere. But it might be helpful for this article.) -- Hoary (talk) 01:11, 26 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've gone in and made those changes, I have also added references for birth and death information. This is my first try and making an article so it's a bit clunky. Littlecessna172 (talk) 01:31, 26 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You're doing fine, Littlecessna172. But NB both findagrave.com and ancestry.com are listed as "generally unreliable": please take out references to them. And ... I think that biographical infoboxes dumb down the biographies of most people who (unlike baseball players, etc) aren't easily comparable. Well, it's a minority view. But a related and more immediate problem is the duplication of one photograph -- do you drop it from the infobox, drop the photo with its informative caption, or somehow add the caption to the photo in the infobox? -- Hoary (talk) 02:21, 26 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
