Mezzanines

[edit]
  • "This station is unusual in that its mezzanine is split in two halves." --> No source.
  • "This is because at this location, Union Turnpike and the Jackie Robinson Parkway cross under Queens Boulevard but over the Queens Boulevard Line tracks; the mezzanine is at the level of Union Turnpike, one half on either side, with no connection between the two outside of fare control." --> No source.

Impressive article! Great work! On hold for seven days to allow for changes to be made; please @PING me here if you have questions, comments, or concerns. Thanks a ton! Cheers, Carbrera (talk) 18:47, 29 June 2016 (UTC).[reply]

@Carbrera: Thanks for the review! I think Kew Gardens 613 has already fixed all the above issues. I've gone over them again, just to make sure. Thanks again. Kylo, Rey, & Finn Consortium, now featuring BB-8 (talk) 13:37, 30 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Title

[edit]

Is there a real need for the seemingly unnecessary disambiguation "(IND Queens Boulevard Line)" in the title? Kew Gardens – Union Turnpike doesn't exist (and probably ought to) and should almost certainly be where this article should exist. The Rambling Man (talk) 06:15, 17 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not the boss of this operation, but... the title maintains consistency with the article titles of other New York City Subway stations (and stations in other rail systems), which are typically named after common streets (96th Street), landmarks (Times Square), or neighborhoods (Briarwood) and thus need to be disambiguated in this manner. But again, I'm not the boss. Tdorante10 (talk) 06:51, 17 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
No-one's the boss, I just asked a simple question about why the unnecessary disambiguation and why the article wasn't at the redlinked version. The Rambling Man (talk) 07:10, 17 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Closed exit

[edit]

@Mtattrain: While I have heard that there might have been an exit leading to the NW corner of Union Turnpike and Queens Boulevard, and though it would make sense based on the layout of the station, what evidence is there on the ground (literally), in images, or documents to support your assertion? This is my home station, and don't know of anything indicating the former presence of a station entrance at that location. Thanks again for your work.--Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 21:07, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
