Truncation on Dec 10,2005
[edit]The reasons given for the Dec 10 truncation are inconsistent with other biographical articles in Wikipedia.
The article on "L. Ron Hubbard" for example is not only considerably longer, but also contains information that could easily be moved to other articles (for example, all the discussion about Dianetics). This article also contains content that Scientology supporters would certainly consider non-NPOV.
The article about Kevin Zegers contains no content that is either patently false or in violation of copyrights. Sources have been added where appropriate and are consistent with Wikipedia standards.
- Kevin Zegers is not exactly L. Ron Hubbard. You can't compare a relatively minor actor to one of the most influental religious figures of the 20th century. You have to compare him with other actors. Compare him with, say, Julia Roberts or Richard Gere, who are actors of undeniably higher stature. If we spent as much time talking about every film role of theirs in such detail (and their films were mostly all widely released and seen) than their entries would take 10 pages. For example, there is a wikipedia page for Transamerica, that's where the plot info should go. I know you mean well but something as lengthy and detailed as you wrote really belongs on a fan site (and is on the linked fansite anyway).
The format I cut it down to is pretty big (larger in size than Richard Gere) in itself for an actor who is not (yet at least) that big in stature. DocOck 19:19, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
Complete Biography
[edit]I removed the section 'Complete Biography' as it appeared to have been directly copied from some other website. If somebody re-words it and cuts out all the PR-type stuff that it seemed to contain, then it could be useful. Splamo 02:34, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
I think this page should contain a photographg of Kevin Zegers. He is a hollywood actor with a massive fan base. he's been in an Oscar nominated film and has been in the industry since he was a child
- I think there used to be a picture of him before on this page, not sure what happened to it. --Mjrmtg 12:41, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
Perez Hilton
[edit]Is he even considered a reliable source? Specifically regarding this edit, but also in general. -Ebyabe 01:08, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
- Why is it included in the article at all? "He was rumored to be dating her" - So? Are rumors encyclopedic? --Mjrmtg (talk) 13:20, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- You're right, so I deleted it. A sourced rumor is still a rumor. -Ebyabe (talk) 23:15, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Transamerica
[edit]"Zegers' performance as the bisexual street hustling son of a male-to-female transsexual"
There is no reference in this film as to the characters sexuality. Just because he is a 'street hustler' who has sex with males, but eventually is attracted to the main character doesn't make him bisexual. in fact the link in wikipedia to 'prostitution of males' specifically makes this point strongly in its introduction. also bisexuality is not defined by who you have sex with but who you are emotionally attracted to. i think that this phrase would be better edited to say "Zegers' performance as the street hustling son of a male-to-female transsexual". this would link in better with wikipedias own definition of a street hustler and to the theme of the actual film. does anyone mind if i edit the word out in the next few days?Bawdekin (talk) 18:59, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

Suggested rearrangement
[edit]With the "personal life" section being displayed first, I think it would be appropriate to rearrange the edit. The reason being is that in other articles, (many) there typically is "early life" section that comes first. It potentially sounds very difficult to change, but I believe that it would be a change that would be for good and would benefit the article. Hartma9616 (talk) 18:45, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
