The article doesn't accurately convey Sabet's dishonesty in pushing his prohibitionist agenda. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:9:7E00:9F4:A855:12E0:7EB2:7FB8 ([[User talk:2601:9

NPOV

[edit]

After some writing and rewriting by Parabens1044 (talk · contribs) (who I gather has a positive opinion of Sabet) and myself (who does not), I think we've got this article to a decent NPOV standard. It highlights Sabet's career and accurately reports on his books without attacking or promoting his cause. PB1044 disagreed with me adding a section about SAM's failure in the 2020 elections and in New York and Virginia in 2021, but I think it'd be dishonest not to mention that he is (for the most part) losing support and finding less success as the years go on. The update more accurately described the politics of 2020; it is disingenuous to say the legislation all passed in 2020. Moreover, the previous editor said NY legalized when as of his/her edit, they had not.

^ I wondered how somebody with a negative view of Kevin missed the abundant negative press on Kevin, and it looks like both editors are on board with Kevin's extreme views on Cannabis prohibition, but one editor doesn't think he is very good at it..

The above two comments reflect a biased view of the subject. If Sabet is dishonest, then so is every major medical association in the country.

^ um - please explain? They probably are all dishonest, but few take such an extreme view on the harms of cannabis than Kevin does.

Negative criticism

[edit]

"If significant views include negative criticism of the article subject published in reliable sources, then they should be incorporated into the article content in an appropriate and neutral way."

I am sure I can find criticism of Dr. Sabet from sources as reliable as Newsweek. A Wikipage about him isn't complete without at least some mention of his ... inaccurate and misleading statements.

I Despise the Lede

[edit]

Complete garbage. He's not a celebrity or a musician, or a politician and that trashy, breezy "style" is utter horseshit. Sabet either has something substantive to say about marijuana, or he does not. According to my read of the Lede, he does not. Instead he hob-nobs and rubs elbows with other "big names" and one assumes he's also a flash-in-the-pan celebrity author that has some self-help who-gives-a-fuck-what to say about marijuana. Meanwhile, THC-A is legal and being given away for free in my home town, and "dabs" can have THC level of around 90%. These ain't your grandma's "demon weed" anymore. Genetically engineered, with flowers the size of your arm. My guess is that he's warning about the dangers of this threat to public safety, and the dope-smoking libertarians at Wikipedia are opposed to elevating him to anything other than the level flim-flam creative bullshit author Tony Robbins. The Lede is supposed to invite the read to develop an interest in the topic, and motivate them to continue reading. Instead I choose to come here in the Discussion Pages and vent my spleen on this large pile of steaming horseshit.66.25.69.185 (talk) 20:59, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
