Copyvio
This article is a copy vio from [1]. I noticed this as I was in the process of completely rewriting the article. It should be moved over from Talk:Kevin O'Leary (entrepreneur)/Temp when the deletion is complete. If you want Wikipedia to be a trusted site you have to also include the so not flattering life of Kevin O'Leary. Are you saying he did not do anything between 1980 and 1999? He has attempted several failed ventures and declared several bankruptcies. Is there a reason to hide two decades of his life? I hope you will correct this part with facts and evidence. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.47.205.230 (talk) 18:31, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
Bias
THis article is biased in favour of presenting an image of O'Leary as a successful entrepreneur, when the truth is that had Mattel not accidentally acquired TLC for US$3.6B, TLC would've probably gone bankrupt as would've O'Leary!
O'Leary seems to have got his big break through a rather murky deal with Mattel. I agree the article is biased —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.65.91.190 (talk) 04:01, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
- I could have sworn that the original number in the article was something like $360 million. Also there was a reference about it being called one of the worst business deals in history. The article clearly has been edited by very biased editors, especially considering that I heard Kevin O'Leary mention the billion dollar sale on Shark Tank recently. I am not sure how to go back to a previous edit but I think someone should look into it.70.79.55.114 (talk) 11:53, 2 July 2011 (UTC)BeeCIer
- Whether the deal was bad or not is very subjective. Many bad deals were done in the lead-up to the dot-com crash. Frankly, I would agree that the deal was bloody terrible, but that's not up to us to decree in this article. You can find a reference to the $3.8B figure at http://www.zdnet.com/news/mattelthe-learning-co-in-38b-merger/101179. QuinnHK (talk) 05:00, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
The mention of the Oct 6/11 broadcast of "The Exchange" portrays Hedges as having held the high ground in this discussion. The reality is that O'Leary worked to temper the discussion after his "nut bar" comment, and Hedges insisted on making an issue of it. Hedges also misquoted (granted, he may have misheard) O'Leary's comment, thinking he called him a nut case, when in reality, O'Leary said he was "sounding like a left-wing nut bar," which is doubly different and arguably less incendiary. Perhaps more importantly, I question the notability of this exchange. O'Leary makes incendiary and offensive comments to guests on many shows he participates in on a regular basis. I am editing this section slightly accordingly. QuinnHK (talk) 04:08, 8 October 2011 (UTC)
