In the lead, maybe mention he declined going pro immediately after high school? Also worth mentioning how he signed with the Rangers instead of the Blackhawks. Done
The lead should also mention any career highlights instead of just trades and new contracts. Done
"Hayes' South Shore teammates included future NHL players Noel Acciari and Charlie Coyle." Why skip Chris Wagner? He's in the source. Done
Would the post-match summaries the BC Eagles games be a better source than previews, especially for goals and assists that happened previously? Done

I'm not sure you could use "Philly" in an encyclopedic article, or maybe it's just me... Done
I don't think Fansided (Broad Street Buzz) articles count as reliable. It also didn't load. Done
Ref 48 could be replaced by something better than a tweet, even though it's from an official team account. Done
