- There are a couple of statements in the article that are unsupported. They include a reference to plans for incorporation and mention of a ferry said to have operated between Lemoore and Kettleman City before Tulare Lake receded. Citations are needed for these statements. Armona (talk) 02:24, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
There is no indication that the community was ever called Kettelman City (see Place-Names of Central California by David L. Durham, p. 144, ISBN 19884995-33 Parameter error in {{ISBN}}: checksum--0). It was called Kettleman City from the time the town was laid out in 1929 and the U.S. Post Office was established there. As is stated in the article, the town was named after the Kettleman Hills. The Kettleman Hills were in turn named after David Kettelman, who grazed cattle on them in the 1850s. Kettelman City is at best an alternate spelling (or a misspelling) similar to Kittleman City, which has also been used and is mentioned in the USGS reference. Armona (talk) 23:15, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
