Kernel debugger - inside or outside of kernel?

Is this a correct statement? Does the kernel debugger have to be part of the kernel code? I'd rather expect a definition such as A kernel debugger allows debugging a kernel." --Abdull (talk) 21:53, 4 February 2010 (UTC) On page about SGI KDB(KDB (Built-in Kernel Debugger)) KDB was described as bult-in debugger. Also this debugger defined as part of kernel.But it's not default part of kernel,because Torvalds don't want any kernel debugger. And yo must use kernel patch for activation KDB.
