On "Turkish people"

"She lived in the 20th and even 21st Century" is not enough evidence to prove her ethnicity. In English Wikipedia, Turkish people (Category:Ethnic Turkish people) is used for ethnic Turks and Category:Turkish people (Commons:Category:Turks) is used for Turkish citizens (Commons:Category:People of Turkey). I used the centuries for changing "Ottoman Empire" to "Ottoman Turkey". As I consider no difference based on ethnicity among Turkish citizens, I see them all as of Turkish nationality, or "Turkish people". Thanks. --E4024 (talk) 23:18, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As you can read it in the opening sentence, Turkish people describes both the ethnic group and the nation. It's the same in analogous Wikipedia articles, such as Germans, where both Einstein (German by nationality) and Catherine the Great (German by ancestry) are featured. Unless you have sources saying that Keriman Halis Ece professed a non-Turkish identity, your rant on the so-called assimilation policies of the Turkish government is out of place. According to the definition　by the state of Turkey, "Turkish Nation" (Türk Milleti) exists. But, this is different concept (political concept) and one of the Turkic peoples is explained in the article Turkish people.
