Two articles with the same content
[edit]Compare Kepahiang with Kepahiang Regency. As of March 2012, Kepahiang Regency was a stub about the regency, and Kepahiang was a stub about the subdistrict. Now they are more or less identical articles covering both the regency and the subdistrict. Which content belongs on which page? -- John of Reading (talk) 11:11, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
For now I have reverted this back to the 23 April 2012 version, a one line stub. Some of the content from Kepahiang Regency belongs here, but not all of it. -- John of Reading (talk) 11:23, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
- why not just mErge them then? Mdann52 (talk) 19:35, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
- According to the {{Kepahiang Regency}} navbox, the "regency" is a larger administrative unit containing eight smaller units called "subdistricts". Each of the other subdistricts has its own article, so I would guess that there should be a separate article about the Kepahiang subdistrict. This needs someone with local knowledge, I think, as I have no idea which content belongs with the regency and which belongs with the subdistrict. I'll post at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Indonesia. -- John of Reading (talk) 08:27, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
- The naming conventions at WikiProject Indonesia are to keep the regencies at *foo* Regency. The capital town/subdistrict can be listed at Kepahiang. Compare Sleman and Sleman Regency. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 09:12, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
- As a side note, a lot of this needs to be trimmed or fixed. A glaring example is "mayor"; regencies are run by regents. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 09:14, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
- Agree with John and Crisco, content of article Kepahiang should be only about Kepahiang subdistrict not about Kepahiang regency *Annas* (talk) 06:14, 9 June 2012 (UTC)
