Bud Fowler

I clarified the statement about Bud Fowler's season with Keokuk. He was not the "first African American" to play professional baseball for a white team, as had been written. See, for example, the wikipedia entry on Fleet Walker for an earlier example of a black player on an integrated professional team.

Joni Mitchell's first husband?

I presume that if this was the same Chuck Mitchell that was a folk singer and, for a short time in the 1960s, was married to Joni Mitchell, or it would say so. Wouldn't it be appropriate to have a disambiguation pointer at the top of the page saying "For the folk singer, see the article on Joni Mitchell"? 71.254.253.114 (talk) 10:07, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

We need to know whether or not the two Chucks were the same man before we make any changes of that nature. Nietzsche 2 (talk) 01:52, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

They are different because (1) The actor is dead. (2)I know Chuck Mitchell of Keokuk and he is not dead. (3) Here is his website and bio: https://www.mitchellsong.com/bio.php. (4)BTW, he was Joni Mitchell's only husband and she still bears his name. I have his email address if it is needed, but I don't wish to publish it here.

Recent Chuck Mitchell performance at Rand Park Pavilion in Keokuk. Pretty good for a deceased movie actor. http://www.dailygate.com/articles/2009/09/09/news/doc4aa7fc4675917470100200.txt WILLOBIE (talk) 15:21, 2 October 2009 (UTC) Joseph Chiaravalloti, Hamilton, IL, 62341

Assessment comment

Chuck Mitchell, Folk singer; Joan and Chuck Mitchell is incorrectly linked to a deceased actor with the same name.

Chuck Mitchell (November 28, 1927 – June 22, 1992) was an American actor, known for his role as "Porky" in the raunchy 1982 cult classic movie Porky's.

Keokuk's Chuck Mitchell is alive and well and singing in the tri-state area. He is heavily involved in the restoration and preservation of historic structures in Keokuk. He is the former husband of the folk singer, Joanie Mitchell.
