Chiacchia has been published in four different genres, science-fiction-approximately 15-20 publications, medical writing-100s of publications, search and rescue science-several publications and newspaper journalism-50+ publications. Apologies, there was too much discussion on this page, I wanted to rid it of clutter, so I deleted it you can see the thread in history though. Botendaddy (talk) 05:44, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wanted to know if we could update the page -- since this was written we have had a publication in Wilderness & Environmental Medicine: Chiacchia KB, Houlahan HE (2010) “Effectors of Visual Search Efficacy on the Allegheny Plateau,” Wilderness & Environmental Medicine 21(3):188-201

This marks our first SAR publication in a peer-reviewed journal, and is a member of a fairy rare discipline: SAR research. In this paper we were the first group in the world to measure sweep width -- a measure of visual search efficacy -- in the same place in both winter and summer, thus giving clues as to how the seasons affect searchers' ability to find lost people. We were also the first to apply rigorous statistical methods to sweep width results based on individual values, allowing us to hypothesis test our results and derive P values to distinguish differences that do and do not rise above specific levels of statistical significance.

I've also expanded my science fiction publications, but I'm not familiar with what your criteria for updating these might be.
