Norse Mythology
[edit]I've only watched the anime, but I've noticed a plethora of references to Norse mythology. Ragnarok is direct from Norse Mythology, and many of the members of Ragnarok are named after members of the norse pantheon (Thor, Loki, Odin, etc). Ironically, however, I've also noticed that the members of the Kenichi's dojo bear closer representatives to those same norse dieties the ragnarok claim as their namesake. The dojo's leader, Hayato, evokes the image of the norse "all-father", odin, for example. In episode 44, where you see a lot of him, you can notice that one of his eyes is eclipsed in darkness. Similarly, the norse odin traded his eye for wisdom, and thus only had one eye. In all the flash-backs to miu's youth, you see her and her father traveling through snowy lands. Similarly Kensei Ma evokes the image of Loki the trickster, and Sakaki that of Thor, those less vividly than the parallel between Hayato and Odin.
Is this worth mentioning? I noticed a single reference to the norse pantheon in this wiki. Such a single and consistent influence seems to merit greater attention, or at least hot-links to the respective norse name-sakes. Liquid entropy 04:37, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
- It should be considered. Could also be placed as trivia quote? "Many names in the Shijō Saikyō no Deshi Kenichi anime are from the Norse myth. For example; A group within the anime is called Ragnarok, members are name Thor, Loki and Odin." Just my thoughts, no idea if this was the meaning of the creators of the anime.Ge4ce 15:12, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
- Make that most likely a must, as quoted from the first hand(Odin) in episode 35: "Mythological god of tricks: Loki, the destroyer of the world(s)" Ge4ce 17:33, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
Bad grammar
[edit]Who's ever editing this main page has really bad grammar, no offense (you know who you are). - Zeta26 10:25, June 27 2007 (UTC)
Storyline errors
[edit]- Kenichi joins the dojo after seeing Miu fight.
- Daimonji is not karate senpai, he is just a first year student at the karate club.
- He defeats Daimonji after learning a move from Miu, also this is after he joins the dojo.

Emphasis on Anime Version??
[edit]Apparently, the regular editor of this page is referencing to the anime only. Though this results in no spoilers, but the lack of info for the manga version is obvious.
- Well, if your knowledgeable on the manga, then your free to add some info. Unfortunately, I don't buy this manga (I do, however, know some new info and characters in the manga, but only a little, so I can't add them till I find more info). So, I can only deal with what I can get my hands on, but I would have no problem if others added some info on what is currently going on in the manga (with references of course, i.e. chapter pages). And spoilers is not really an issue for these types of articles. DarkAngel007 18:32, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
There are various websites that you can download the manga in order to find the info you need to edited this article
Kenichi?
[edit]Shouldn't at least the body of the article read Ken'ichi, with apostrophe? (I only see it with apostrophe in the literal translation of the Japanese name, in italics)
Also, should Ken'ichi be a redirect to this article, as Kenichi?

Japanese Text Needed?
[edit]Do you think this article could use the Japanese text for some of the terms used in this anime? eg.dou, seikuken, etc. If so, I'd be happy to oblige, but I'm not sure what the normal conventions are on things like this... Konamaiki 08:13, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- That would be nice as there is already one term with the Japanese characters. (Kouho and Haiho (扣歩・擺歩)) You just need to be sure that there is a source to go with it. Ge4ce 10:55, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
That's right. I agree. 137.132.3.6 (talk) 14:16, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Kenichi 01.JPG
[edit]Image:Kenichi 01.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Music frame moved
[edit]I took the freedom to move the frame with the anime soundtrack list to the list of anime episodes. I think it's better off there, I've seen it in several other episode lists.--84.63.188.61 (talk) 20:56, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit]what about history strongest disciple tatakae ryu and history strongest another stories? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.53.132.37 (talk) 13:12, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
I agree! I'm very interested about the history. I only found a manga site with the manga itself copied, but no info from the orignal like author or when it was released. (In Wiki I've read 2002. But isn't it the date of the remake? I'm confused.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.242.150.68 (talk) 00:27, 14 December 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Is there an OVA 4 and forward on the way? I haven't heard anything. Or has Brain Base given up on the projects? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.25.229.61 (talk) 05:27, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi
[edit]This version of the title is common but it is not even mentioned here? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 10:41, 9 November 2020 (UTC)
- I'm curious about this. Is there any official media that uses this title? - Xexerss (talk) 19:42, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
