[edit]Since stumbling across this article as a result of reverting vandalism on it, I've found a few additional sources which should be of use in expanding it, and improving the balance:
- Guardian profile
- Guardian leader
- Indy article in a private archive
- 2nd Indy article also in archive
- New Statesman interview
- BBC report on Cash for honours inquiry
- BBC report on suggestions for changes to murder charges and sentencing
- BBC report on increased CPS invovlement in charging suspects and bringing cases to court
- Appointment as Recorder
- receipt of knighthood
- Silk

- As a member of the CPS, I take issue with the fact that Ken MacDonald is a 'good decision maker' and would suggest that that point be sourced, and balanced with criticism of his conduct in post.
Conviction
[edit]Despite the probably status of the conviction, it did become a matter of press interest and controversy at the time of his appointment, so I beleive it is germane to the article - though in its present state I agree that its relevance is not made clear. As you can see from the references I have gathered above, I started a re-write of this article a while back, but have got diverted on to other issues. There should however be enough info in the references listed above for someone else to finish the job. David Underdown (talk) 18:55, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
