Citation needed for claim that "Keltic Lodge was a favorite shore leave destination for U-boat crews" in 1943-44.
[edit]In 1943, crew from U-boat 537 set up a weather station at Martin Bay, near Cape Chidley, Labrador. According to one source, this was the only documented landing by German combatants in North America. [edit]The resort has been included on the prestigious Gold List of Conde Nast Traveller, where it had been recognized as one of the most desirable destinations in the world. The mystique of the Keltic Lodge is enhanced by its prime location on the famous Cabot Trail, within Cape Breton Highlands National Park and by its proximity to Highlands Links, the number one golf course in Canada.

- The fact that the article has problems doesn't mean it should be deleted per se., but that said I doubt adequate referenced content can be found. I propose redirecting the article to Ingonish until such time as enough good content is available to justify a stand-alone article. --Cornellier (talk) 15:50, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
- I just did a quick search at Google Books and saw the Keltic Lodge is mentioned in numerous travel guide books. There are probably adequate references for a better article, if anyone wants to take on the challenge of a major edit. Karenthewriter (talk) 20:03, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
- I've just now cut some junk. (The result remains very feeble.) -- Hoary (talk) 01:52, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
- I located 3 newspaper articles, and rewrote sections, using information that didn't come from the lodge's website. I deleted the unreferenced section about it being a destination for U-Boat crews during 1943 - 1944. Karenthewriter (talk) 05:36, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
