Utter Crap!

What a shite article.

I thought I'd look up the song, get an insight into the writing, the musical composition, chart success and covers etc........

All I got was some inane reference to 'Buster', and other irrelevant uses in television........

Tell me about the song!!!!!!!!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.153.107.222 (talk) 00:55, 9 June 2010 (UTC)

Cover version

It doesn´t make any sence with those " articles" where a song reference is all about a COVER-version of someone others work ! It shouldn´t be allowed to refer to a song that way in wikipedia, actions on stricter redactionary criterias and policies should be taken ! The phrasing ( The Spencer Davies Group song ) is misleading and make beleive that it´s actually a product of their creative process which it´s not ! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.52.13.111 (talk) 15:42, 28 July 2010 (UTC) ¨¨¨¨¨ George¨¨¨¨

== PROTEST == I´ve now several times tried editing an article on the topic ["Keep on Running" (Jackie Edwards song)] but keep getting it deleted or redirected to this article without any other trace of explanation than " an article covering this topic already existing " though this article clearly is a non-article mainly airing the misconception that "Keep on Running" is a song by Spencer Davis Group though their contribution lies solely in the recording of a cover version of an already existing song, recorded and written by "Jackie" (Wilfred Gerald) Edwards for Island Records in 1965.Someone other left a note saying " He just wrote the song " !!! -Yes ! that´s just what he did ! -and recorded it ! The one and only true original version, and that´s why I´d like to put up an article about his song and rightfully name it ["Keep on Running" (Jackie Edwards song )]Flight714 (talk) 00:16, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

That is not the right way to go about it. Multiple articles about the same song is not a good idea unless the different versions are so different that they would be considered different songs (and probably not even then). But it seems reasonable that the article title is changed to reflect the composer rather than the single; the article can be about the song as well as its various recordings and cover versions. This is how it's solved in articles like Light My Fire - no comparison intended between the songs, but that is an article about a song that has apparently been released in a number of versions, all of which are covered in the article. --bonadea contributions talk 14:13, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
The best thing would probably be for this article to be moved to Keep on Running (Jackie Edwards song). Edwards recorded it for his Come on Home album and also recorded a version in the mid-70s. There have been several versions of the song, including one by Roger Taylor (of Queen). It makes sense to start with Jackie Edwards and also alter the title to reflect the fact that this is a Jackie Edwards song. We only need one article about this song, at least as long as there's not a lot more to say about it.--Michig (talk) 18:48, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
Any objections to this move?--Michig (talk) 20:09, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
I'll get the move started tomorrow if nobody objects - will probably need the target page deleting first.--Michig (talk) 16:52, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
