POV content

I think I have been able to remove most of the POV problem with this article. Most of it was add by User:202.83.63.153 who looks like they just added a Kawasaki press release to the specifications. Press releases on new products are almost always written with a very strong POV stance. Please look over it and verify. I'll remove the notice templates in a little bit. The first sentence...

"The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is Kawasaki's follow-up to the ZX-9R sport bike." This is not an entirely true statement--leaning more towards not. While it would make sense to assume the ZX-10R was the successor to the ZX-9R, this is actually a common misconception. The ZX-9R was developed and manufactured during an era when open class racing was limited to 750cc machines. The ZX-9R, like the CBR900, 919 and 929, the GSX-R1100 and the [2001-2002] GSX-R1000 as well as the [1998-2002] Yamah YZF-R1 were all designed in this same era and were not developed for production bike racing (AMA, SBK, etc). The 2004 Kawasaki ZX-10R was devloped from the ground up to be a race machine and be Kawasaki's "triumphant return" to race domination like it experienced witht he ZX-6R in the early 1990's.

Also, typically, a successor to a previous bike (most of the time) resembles the previous machine in either fit, form or function--the 2004+ ZX-10R carries over NONE of the ZX-9R's attributes in mechanics or handling. The ZX-9R is actually still manufactured (in most of its original form) as the ZZR-900. Comparing the 900cc ZZR machine to the 2004/5 ZX-10R will quickly illustrate the stark differences between the two of them.

Missing 88-90 ZX-10R

The designation ZX-10R was also used for the 1988-1990 model that followed the GPX1000RX and was replaced by the ZZR-1100. I can understand the desire to have a separate page for that and the 2004 version, since they are separated by 14 years and share no parts. But personally, I think it's easiest for the reader to see both versions on the same page, with separate sections, especially since the total amount of text is probably not so great that the page will be too long. --Dbratland (talk) 22:46, 10 January 2011 (UTC)

Actually, never mind. The earlier model belongs at Kawasaki ZX-10 or Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10, without the R suffix. So this page is fine. --Dbratland (talk) 04:03, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
