Notablity
[edit]User:Onel5969 - I think there is no question this meets GNG. I've now even added more RS refs w text. But if you think it does not, I would suggest you bring it to AfD. --2603:7000:2143:8500:9D0F:6A81:4224:6C2A (talk) 19:25, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

- ... that 2021 New York City mayoral candidate Kathryn Garcia resigned as Commissioner of the New York City Sanitation Department after budget cuts forced a 60% reduction in public trash basket pickups? [1]
Created by 2603:7000:2143:8500:9D0F:6A81:4224:6C2A (talk). Nominated by Evrik (talk) at 02:50, 15 January 2021 (UTC).
- Date and length (just) OK. I'm glad the hook says "after" rather than "because of" because that is cited inline. QPQ done no close parapharsing. Good to go. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 19:23, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
COI tag
[edit]The addition of this COI tag appears both odd and without basis.[2] --2603:7000:2143:8500:6DC8:71E:DA17:6742 (talk) 09:58, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
Infobox image
[edit]Hi everyone! What should be the infobox image for this page? We have two options:
Which one is better? I argue for the more recent one at a political rally - it's newer and it's a much higher quality image, while still meeting the usual requirements for a main page image - focused on her only, facing forward, etc. Ganesha811 (talk) 15:19, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
- An official, portrait-like photo like this or this would be far better than a picture of her speaking out in the wind. KidAd • SPEAK 15:32, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
- KidAd, agreed, but I don't think those are public domain, right? I'm not sure what the circumstances under which fair use of an image like that is allowed, either. Ganesha811 (talk) 15:57, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
- I think we should use an image where we can clearly see Garcia's face. I agree that the one used before was low quality. There are free use photos on Garcia's website, https://gallery.kgfornyc.com/kgfornyc/ 96.224.10.14 (talk)
- I'm not sure those photos are usable - copyright issues. They're listed there for sale as prints, but I can't see any copyright release or something that would suggest they're free use. I waded into WP:FAIRUSE and I think we wouldn't be able to meet the "no free equivalent" criterion. Ganesha811 (talk) 16:34, 14 June 2021 (UTC)

- I'm the uploader of the first image, and agree the second is better. Someone could write an email to her official website to ask whether she would release one of those, by marking it https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/. Sometimes (maybe 20% of the time?) that works. --GRuban (talk) 17:46, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
- @GRuban: Sounds like a good idea to me. Stormy160 (talk) 00:50, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

[edit]That was one of my first questions when I read that she had married 'Jerry Garcia'. A 'pointless point'? Perhaps, but how much utility might it provide to readers of the article about Kathryn Garcia? MaynardClark (talk) 14:11, 26 June 2021 (UTC)
