USA Triathlon Hall of Fame
[edit]McCartney does not appear to be an inductee. See http://www.usatriathlon.org/ngb/tag/1647 and the links from that page. It is unlikely she would have been inducted on the strength of a single Ironman championship win, especially since the early races were not very competitive, current female winning times being more than two hours faster. In addition, a footnote to an article on a basketball site is a poor source for this type of information. Accordingly I've removed the statement that she was inducted. --NSH001 (talk) 17:47, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
- Sounds good. Here's another link from USAT that specifically lists HOF athletes only and she's not there. The sad thing is that Kevin Love articles are reporting it from NBA, USA Basketball team, and in San Diego Union-Tribune. Bagumba (talk) 18:09, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
- While her athletic achievements are unlikely to merit induction, it's always possible that she may have been inducted for outstanding achievements in triathlon administration, publicity, race organisation, and the like, which is why I looked at the general page. I'm not aware that she has in fact done any of that, but I haven't looked very hard. --NSH001 (talk) 19:01, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
