New draft for this article
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Working with and on behalf of Kate White, the subject of this article, I've written a new draft of the article aiming to provide a more detailed biography. At the moment, the article is extremely short and while it mentions a minor odd detail like Ms. White's appearance in a college musical, it neglects to provide any information about her career prior to Cosmopolitan, which included several editor-in-chief positions at national magazines. The draft that I'm proposing has been written from reliable sources to include key information about Ms. White's career in the magazine industry and as a writer.
I would very much appreciate the help of other editors to review my draft, offer any feedback, and if ready replace the current live article with this new version. The the draft is in my user space here: User:16912_Rhiannon/Kate_White
My draft is an expansion from the current stub to an article with five main sections, plus infobox, references and external links. The content is broken down as follows:
- An infobox provides key facts about Ms. White
- Background includes details currently in the article, regarding her birthplace and college.
- Career in magazine industry provides an overview of her roles since college in the magazine industry and includes a subsection:
- Cosmopolitan summarizes her time as editor-in-chief at the magazine
- Writing career provides details about the books authored by Ms. White since 2002, including summary of their subjects. This is split into two subsections:
- Fiction providing details of the Bailey Weggins series of books and her two stand alone novels
- Non-fiction details her non-fiction career advice books
- Personal life a short section noting her husband and family
- Bibliography lists all of her published books
I have also updated the external links to include the link to her up-to-date speakers bio, as she is no longer listed at Harper Collins Speakers Bureau (the current link).
Please let me know here if you have any constructive feedback on my draft. It would be great if you'd make any small changes you have in the draft, but discuss larger ones here. If you have any questions at all, you can ask here or on my Talk page. I'll reply here to any comments as soon as I can. Thanks, 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 23:46, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
- I did a quick pass to look at tone and sourcing, and it looks like a huge improvement to me. I'm moving it to article space. All best, 12:50, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
- Wow, that's great! Thanks so much Khazar2, I really appreciate your help. 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 14:09, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
