Personal life
[edit]I've removed the following:
- In 2000 Thornton admitted to battling with both anorexia and bulimia during her teen years in an effort to shed her childhood nicknames of "Glutton" & "Jason Donovan".
Without a reference we shouldn't be saying such things in a BLP. violet/riga (t) 08:06, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
- I've now removed the entire section. The sources that have been used are not reliable sources and we should avoid making claims of this nature without decent references. violet/riga (t) 17:52, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
General Cleanup
[edit]Hi, I saw the cleanup and citations tags on this article, so I have begun a general tidy-up, removing some unattributable statements, a few 'joke' tv shows that Ms Thornton is alleged to have hosted hidden in the text, and rejigged the chronology using reference to her official CV published by Troika Talent agency. I also renamed and expanded the first section 'Journalistic career' to give more prominence to her previous role as journalist and editor, which were significant in their own right but not perhaps as well known to her TV fans.Ethdhelwen (talk) 11:49, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
Political views
[edit]I removed a statement that Ms Thornton was a supporter of the Labour Party as it had no citation. Without evidence of her official affiliation to a political party, it is against the BLP guidelines. The claim has been reinserted recently, and I have removed it again until such time as citation is given of membership rather than support for particular views, which a person may or may not adhere to. Quotes from reliable sources must be provided if an editor wishes to demonstrate a person's support for a particular cause or ideology, and political affiliation cannot be inferred from them.
