Location correct?
[edit]Where are the sources for both the history and the coordinates of this town? I found this National archive World War II reconnaisance photo that indicates the Kasumigaura Naval Air Base located just south of Tsuchiura.[1] 36°3′N 140°13′E / 36.050°N 140.217°E The photo labels a built-up area as Kasumigaura but this is in a different location from today's Kasumigaura. I am curious what it was, and whether there were two towns with the same name.

- The coordinates for the city of Kasumigaura are correct. The coords you provided are not in Kasumigaura at all; they are in Ami, Ibaraki as you can verify on Google Maps. However I see that there is a Kasumigaura Park in Tsuchiura, so apparently the name is used fairly widely. I also see that there are Self Defense Force land and air bases within Ami town limits, so these might correspond to what you linked to. -Amake (talk) 03:49, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
