[edit]Kallar means Black People. "kalavanen kilavi kariyon enba" Kallan means black people.in tamil Kallan means black, king, enemy, karkatakam etc.. KARUPPULI ANDAVAR ( CHINNANDAVAR )
[edit]Perambalur Dist, Pennakonam, this village is located in the Vellar at south bank, a group of Arunthathiyar i.e., NANDALAN KULAM were settled here, they were agricultural land lords and they worshiped their "KULADEIVAM" of KARUPULI ANDAVAR, this group of people were migrated to Annamangalam, Aniyampatti, Kengaiveli, Othiathur, Athur, Salem, Thammampatti, Thuraiyur, and near by musiry. Long back they gone to the above mentioned places, they taken Soil from this place and constructed new karupuli andavar kovils at their near by villages.
