Propaganda edits by Krimuk 2.0

This editor has written this article with his biased views. He added this in the lead "Aaryan went on to play the romantic interest of the lead female characters in Akaash Vani (2013) and Kaanchi: The Unbreakable (2014), but the films failed commercially. He subsequently collaborated with Ranjan and Bharucha in two more buddy films, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 (2015) and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018). Critics accused these films of misogyny but they were both financial successes." This obviously makes it look as if the actor did misogynist films because his women centric films failed. May I as why are we justifying his choices? This Krimik 2.0 is a very manipulative writer. Please give your thoughts here.Krish | Talk 21:22, 2 July 2018 (UTC)

source? Krimuk2.0 (talk) 21:24, 2 July 2018 (UTC)

As per Ian.thomson's message, I'll attempt to explain my reinsertion of the statement "Aaryan went on to play the romantic interest of the lead female characters in Akaash Vani (2013) and Kaanchi: The Unbreakable (2014), but the films failed commercially. He subsequently collaborated with Ranjan and Bharucha in two more buddy films, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 (2015) and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018). Critics accused these films of misogyny but they were both financial successes."

a) As per the reviews of both films, it can be seen that Aaryan did play the romantic interest of the female lead in these films.

b)This ref shows how they were both commercial failures. The commercial performance of his next two releases, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 (2015) and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018), can also be seen in this reference.

c) Now, WP:LEAD asks us to summarise the article's content. Chronologically, these are the events that occurred in the actor's career, as we can see in the sources provided. There's no attempt to manipulate any information or to justify any choices. It's simply a chronological account of his career. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 22:31, 2 July 2018 (UTC)

Krimuk2.0, based on a conversation on my talk page, debate on year of birth might stem from this article, which provides a conflicting age/birthdate. Not sure where to go with this. Greyjoy talk 06:50, 18 May 2018 (UTC)

I see. However, this Times of India ref says that he turned 27 in 2017. --Krimuk2.0 (talk) 07:46, 18 May 2018 (UTC)
Greyjoy the publication you mentioned, Mumbai Mirror, have now called Aaryan a 27-year-old actor in their latest story. --Krimuk2.0 (talk) 07:13, 1 June 2018 (UTC)
Also pinging Swarm who added the protection template. --Krimuk2.0 (talk) 07:13, 1 June 2018 (UTC)

Greyjoy and Swarm, this user is back to his old ways, despite a clarification from the actor about his real age, in which he says, "Whenever people have asked me my age, I would always increase it. I don't know why I loved doing that. But now I tell them my real age". This has since been reflected in multiple references, including this (which also states that he was 20 years old when his first film was released in 2011), this, this, and this. The user, Tranquiled, however, is adamant on reverting to what his birthday was previously misreported by some publications. The misreporting was done by Mumbai Mirror in this article, which was since corrected here. Also pinging Cyphoidbomb. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 08:29, 14 November 2018 (UTC)

Kartik aaryan

Listen don't try to act very smart if your sources are right krimurk2.0 .Then how come Google is showing his birthdate as 1988 Tranquiled (talk) 15:45, 15 November 2018 (UTC)

Answered at your talk page: Google is not a reference. Google is not a journalist. Google is a computerised search engine. It collects information it finds from other sources including Wikipedia, and returns it to the person doing the search. There is no presumption that Google's search answers are 100% correct. Thus, you cannot use a Google search result as an argument for why the date you prefer must be correct. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:47, 15 November 2018 (UTC)

See the discussion above and the source provided in article. Repeating the same thing again and again wont help. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 11:09, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
Tranquiled, constantly changing the date of birth without reaching a consensus is not the right approach and will most likely just end in admin action. Krimuk2.0 has done an excellent job of gathering links from multiple sources to justify the currently listed date of birth. Greyjoy talk 08:53, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
To all involved, a thought: If there is a reasonable uncertainty about the guy's birth year, we can present the information in such a way as to indicate the discrepancy. See Mariah Carey and Disha Patani. If a guy lies to the media multiple times about his age, how certain are we when he allegedly comes clean to report that he's actually younger than he's been saying? Isn't it a common practice for actors to lie about their ages to make themselves younger over time? If you lie to Judge Judy, she doesn't believe anything you say after that point. That said, Tranquiled, please stop edit-warring and wait until you have consensus for your change. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:39, 14 November 2018 (UTC)

This is recent article of kartik aaryan of 6 June 2018 where his birthdate is clearly stated as 29 years old so his true birthdate is 1988 Tranquiled (talk) 12:08, 18 November 2018 (UTC)

Did you read what Cyphoidbomb wrote above? No, you just went ahead and reverted again! :/ Krimuk2.0 (talk) 16:40, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
@Krimuk2.0: Might I please urge you to strongly consider the range proposal I made above? (Examples: Mariah Carey and Disha Patani) My concern is that so long as we have an absolute "this guy was born in ___" statement, Tranquiled is going to be a problem. He's been doing this since May 2018 and it appears to be the only reason why he's here. Presenting the information as an uncertainty, maybe with a note like "Media outlets have reported different ages for Aaryan. Aaryan has stated that he would often give the media false ages..." etc. I think it's appropriate since the guy has lied about his age. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:53, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
I did consider your proposal but I strongly believe that Carey and Patani's examples don't quite match this case. There would have been "uncertainty" had Aaryan not issued a clarification regarding his age. Also, (and this is not my opinion, but how "society" views it) women, and actresses in particular, lie about their age to circumvent the ageism that they face in the industry. Men don't have that problem, and in fact, it's quite the reverse -- they gain popularity the older they get -- which is probably why Aaryan would increase his age when he was younger. His direct clarification, in my opinion, clears things up, which is not the case with Patani, or some other actresses who prefer not to talk about their age at all. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 17:04, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
However, if you disagree with this, I would be fine with having a footnote that says what you suggested. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 17:43, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
@Krimuk2.0: I'd rather abstain from involvement here. I just thought I'd offer a potential solution. :) Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:46, 18 November 2018 (UTC)

Comments
  • "Both his parents are doctors; his father is a paediatrician, and his mother, Mala, is a gynaecologist." — Wikilink "paediatrician" and "gynaecologist" just in case the reader might not get the meaning of them. Did you manage to find Kartik's father's name by any chance?
  • "He has said that while filming for the project," — Said to whom? Do mention that he said it in an interview with the person who interviewed them.
  • "His next film release came two years later when he collaborated once again with Ranjan and Bharucha in the romance Akaash Vani (2013).[18] It is about the titular lovers who are separated when Vani is married off to an abusive husband" — Can be rephrased as "His next film release came two years later when he collaborated once again with Ranjan and Bharucha in the romance Akaash Vani (2013), which is about the titular lovers who are separated when Vani is married off to an abusive husband" and by the way do mention what the source for the line "It is about the titular lovers who are separated when Vani is married off to an abusive husband" is.
  • "It tells the story of Sonu (Aaryan) who plots to separate his best friend (Singh) from his fiancée (Bharucha)." — Doesn't he try to separate them due to his suspicion of Sweety? You could add that/elaborate on that to make it more clearer for the readers.
  • "He has also committed to play the lead role in a Hindi-language remake" — Just "remake" would do as he is working in Hindi films.
  • You could mention about his vegetarian lifestyle (Since you included a "Hottest vegetarian celebrity award") in the initial part of the "Life and career" section if you could find more references on it. Not forcing you to do it but would be good if you managed to find references on it, if not, leave it as it is.
  • Wikilink the publishers (like The Indian Express, Mid Day, NDTV, The Hindu, Firstpost to name a few) and authors (Like Sudhish Kamath, Anna M. M. Vetticad, Namrata Joshi to name a few) in the references used on first instance of usage.

That's about it from me, Krimuk2.0. Do resolve these about comments and the article will be passed.  — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 14:55, 10 January 2019 (UTC)

All done, Ssven2. Thanks for taking up the review. :) I didn't find anything concrete on his vegetarianism other than him stating that he's a vegetarian, so I've left that as is. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 15:30, 10 January 2019 (UTC)
