Gender of Lynda Véronneau

This article leaves me confused as to Véronneau's gender at various points in the narrative. Véronneau is first described in this article as a "transgender man" and referred to with he/him pronouns. It is mentioned that Homolka did not consider the relationship homosexual because Véronneau identified as a man and planned to undergo sexual reassignment surgery. However, in a later paragraph their relationship is referred to as "lesbian" (in accordance with the source cited), and the sentence on Véronneau's book refers to "her relationship with Homolka" (emphasis mine). Most news sources I can find refer to Véronneau as a woman and use she/her pronouns, with no mention of the transgender aspect. Did Véronneau revert to identifying as a woman at some point? If so, this should be clarified. --Asenecal (talk) 17:44, 6 May 2021 (UTC)
