Talk:Karla's Choice
Notability & Citations
[edit]I would dispute the notability and number of citations flag - This is a book described as a "John le Carre novel", who, of course meets the fifth criteria ("The book's author is so historically significant that any of the author's written works may be considered notable"). It is written by Harkaway (le Carre's son) who is himself an author of several well-received books. Further the book meets the first criteria ("The book has been the subject of two or more non-trivial published works appearing in sources that are independent of the book itself.") having been discussed in numerous independent articles including The Guardian, The Telegraph and The Bookseller all of which have been cited in the article. As a (currently) short article, three independent citations (plus the announcement from the publisher) seems reasonable? Chris (talk) 11:16, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
- So I am not a hugely experienced editor, but I would say that if you consider the notability and citations to be sufficient, you're OK to remove the flags (be bold etc.). It might be more prudent to leave them there until the book is actually available to the general public next week, and you are able to flesh out the page a bit more with references to independent mainstream reviews, a plot synopsis and the like. After which, you could remove them. That would reduce the risk of edit wars I guess. I replaced the Draft article template with an Under construction one, as the latter is, I understand, more appropriate to articles being developed in mainspace.
