death

[edit]

Karl Frenzel died some time in 1997. This needs to be included. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.3.194.20 (talk) 02:15, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Source it and put it in. Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 04:06, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I inserted a {{Fact}} tag for Karl's death because everything I have heard so far is that he is still alive. If you have the citation, include it and then remove the tags. Thanks... Dinkytown (talk) 22:03, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm pretty sure this man is dead. I'm going to work on finding proof. Plus he was released form prison due to illness in the 80's, do you really think he's still alive. That's absurd. Granted according to Blatt's itnerview that was a pretense but still. I have read multiple off-hand remarks that he died in 1998 but no proof. Still looking. lolwikiments

It's true that he was released from prison due to health reasons in the 1980's, but German law differs from other national laws on the issue. Last I heard he did show up at a SS members convention in Barvaria in the early 2000's. I also heard that he was on a list of still alive Nazi's. Again, I also have nothing but hearsay, but if he did die, his death would have been noticed by someone. In any event, I'm sure we don't have to wait too long... If you do find the info, please put it in. Take Care. Dinkytown (talk) 23:26, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
      • INFLAMMATORY RACISM REMOVED***

The above writer is wrong and wikipedia is diminshed by this statement. All the evidence indicates he died in the 1990s . "Germans love their SS officers", oh come on grow up and leave your little kindergarten. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 1968peterbishop (talkcontribs) 00:20, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Still being listed as alive I see. This person is really almost certainly dead. Any idea on who we could contact to find out for sure? Lolwikiments (talk) 05:56, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've added his death date based on:
J. Schelvis, Sobibor: A History of a Nazi Death Camp, Berg: Oxford 2007, p. 250.

FINALLY! Thank you, it was getting ridiculous that we weren't allowed to list him as dead when no one has seen or heard from him in a million years. I think when you reach the age of 90 and there is no contact with you for a whole yr the burden of proof should be on listing you as alive. Death should be assumed. Lolwikiments (talk) 22:44, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

According to the main article, he was second camp commandant at Sobibor. With the rank of Staff Seargent?? Surely not. He must've held a higher rank than that as Commandant!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.196.154.159 (talk) 23:38, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Branch of service error?

[edit]

The article lists him (under his photo) as having served in the German Army during WWII…the camps were run by the SS, this can't be correct. Historian932 (talk) 16:22, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct, it has been resolved.Hoops gza (talk) 02:02, 23 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
