This historian made a fundamental research om thousend years of Finnish history in Sweden. This group is the biggest immigrant gruop in Sweden and he has written their history. Finland has also belonged ton Sweden for at least 600 years. Tarkiainen is not a small time historian. Se articles on Finnish and Swedish WP. I am truing to list the most inportant Finnish historians.
He has also contributed with central aspects on how Finns today look at their reformator, and creator of Finnish written language.

He also made a biography about Viljo Tarkiainen, his grandfather and basically a researcher who begun the research of finnish literature. It was in 1988, and was called "Viljo Tarkiainen - suomalainen humanisti" ("Viljo Tarkiainen - Finnish humanist). Cojrak (talk) 08:31, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
