After surfing on net I found this is the same Karanja in Washim district. No need to change. local name is Karanja Lad.Can we edit the title? If yes made it clear Karanja Lad, please! Shivashree 14:47, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This town "Karanja" is also officially known as "Karanja Lad" or "Karanja (Lad)", to differentiate between other places with the same name. Already changed in the text to avoid confusion.

Note : Renamed the existing page "Karanja" with "Karanja Lad", as both the names, "Karanja" and "Karanja Lad" are the official names for this town and more commonly known as the latter name, "Karanja Lad".

The Lad community

[edit]

The statement "Lad is referred for the Jain people having surname Chaware whose caste is Lad. It is often also referred as "Lad'anche Karanja" in honor of Chawares'. appears to be correct. Please see

The Chawares are still prominent there.

There exist other towns named Karanja, hence the need to add Lad to the name.Malaiya (talk) 22:33, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
