The result of the move request was: not moved. Consensus against, due to recent consensus against at RfD. (closed by non-admin page mover) BilledMammal (talk) 02:35, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
Kansas City shooting (disambiguation) → Kansas City shooting – Kansas City shooting (disambiguation) was created late in the game. Now that it exists, it should probably be moved to Kansas City shooting. -- Jax 0677 (talk) 14:07, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
- Support per nomination. There are four entries listed upon the Kansas City shooting (disambiguation) page, with no indication as to the basis, possibly WP:RECENTISM, for the plain title — Kansas City shooting — becoming the putative WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT to the fourth entry, 2024 Kansas City Parade shooting. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 17:57, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose as improper relitigation of the recently-closed Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2024 March 24#Kansas City shooting. * Pppery * it has begun... 19:52, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose per User:Pppery. The community has spoken, and Kansas City shooting must remain a primary redirect, per the RFD. 162 etc. (talk) 21:41, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
- The procedural issues with the recent RFD are annoying, and it's only been two weeks since the DRV closed? At the same time, we are not a bureaucracy, and as long as the request to look at this again was made in good faith, we can still allow ourselves to look at the merits. So, there's clearly some ambiguity to this phrase. Are the readers recognizing this as ambiguous? We can try to find traces of that in the clickstreams: clickstream-enwiki-2024-02.tsv shows 6,277 clickstreams from 2024_Kansas_City_parade_shooting to Kansas_City_massacre. clickstream-enwiki-2024-03.tsv shows 172 clickstreams from 2024_Kansas_City_parade_shooting to Kansas_City_massacre and 76 from Kansas_City_shooting to 2024_Kansas_City_parade_shooting. Because of the recent nature of the event, there was a huge amount of reader interest in February, which started to subside in March [1]. Presenting a list to readers shouldn't be out of the question, but maybe we need to make sure the most recent events are at the top, as chronological ordering isn't necessarily beneficial to navigation here. It seems the trial for the Ralph Yarl shooting is coming up later this year, and then the reader interest may yet ebb and flow. --Joy (talk) 13:27, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
- I personally disagree with the results of the RFD. That being said, what's done is done - there were two discussions, plus a review, and the consensus is clear. Rehashing this here is not an option. 162 etc. (talk) 17:40, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
- @162 etc. I would ordinarily agree, but so many WP:RMs are redundant, that we can probably tolerate one more :) granted, if we left it alone for a couple of months to be able to see the monthly stats, that would be fine, too. --Joy (talk) 08:32, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
