Contested deletion
[edit]This article should not be speedy deleted as lacking sufficient context to identify its subject, because... I accidentally submitted it before I was finished writing the initial version. Delete it if you must, but it will be back shortly. --Feis-Kontrol (talk) 03:39, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
- Removed tag because of information that was added. You might want to think about creating future articles in a user WP:Sandbox so that if you do accidentaly submit it before it is done it will not be deleted for A1/A7 etc. It is also probably easier than using the preview button all the time. PhantomTech (talk) 04:07, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
- Understood. Thanks. Feis-Kontrol (talk) 05:09, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
No connection to Kansas City, Kansas?
[edit]So there are no plans to connect this line to the state that the city was actually named for? That's truly annoying. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 14:07, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
- A: Kansas City, Kansas is named after Kansas City, Missouri (if you would have clicked the link you provided, you would have seen that.) B: The streetcar will only be in KCMO at the moment. Elisfkc (talk) 04:13, 16 November 2015 (UTC)
- Kansas City, MO came first. Then the state of Kansas was named after the city in MO. Pcarn9 (talk) 13:11, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Pcarn9: actually, the state is named after the Kansa. --Elisfkc (talk) 19:24, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Elisfkc: actually, the state is named after the Kansas River, just like the city was. The city was named before the state. --Pcarn9 (talk) 20:04, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Pcarn9: actually, the state is named after the Kansa. --Elisfkc (talk) 19:24, 10 May 2016 (UTC)

numbers
[edit]I wondered about the numbers in the infobox - having 16 stops at a two-mile route would be very unlikely. Even the very old streetcar systems have stops at an average distance no less than 250m and in modern setups you'd put them at a distance of about 400m / quarter mile. I didn't find the original info in the given reference but the track map clearly shows it be really 8 stops, so the 16 is probably just "platforms". Also the spokeswoman said in a video that the track is 2.2 mile long. Those would be much more rational numbers indeed. Guidod (talk) 09:35, 23 February 2016 (UTC)
- I think the person counted each time the streetcar visited a station on a round trip. I count 10 stations, as seen here. --Elisfkc (talk) 20:12, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
Photos and diagram
[edit]Hi all - I'm not from Kansas City, so I wonder if you can help me. Some more photos and a nice route diagram would really help this article out, it's a bit bare right now! Turini2 (talk) 16:59, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
Expansion section
[edit]As per a wide variety of transportation articles, it's not Wikipedia:CRYSTAL or speculation to include published proposals (such as the east-west line). (Clearly insertions by "Crayonistas" should be banished post haste!)
I've also reinserted useful information such as the length and cost of the extensions - clearly of interest to a layperson. I have significantly summarised the previous wording (completely understand the NOTNEWS point!), with headings as appropriate. Turini2 (talk) 17:12, 27 January 2024 (UTC)
