Grave Manipulation of this webpage, and injustice (your own families will be cursed if you do this just for your selfish pride, don't play with history)
Hello all,
I would like to address an important issue regarding the recent changes in the article about Bhakta Kannappa. We see that there has been an alteration to that level that you have deleted many facts about Kannappa's origin, and have suggested that Kannappa was of Telugu origin. However, this contradicts the traditional accounts of him being a Tamil saint, particularly as he is one of the 63 Nayanars, who are deeply rooted in Tamil Shaivite tradition.
Kannappa's story is widely associated with Tamil devotional history, and many historical and religious sources, including inscriptions on the walls of the Srikalahasti temple, are in Tamil, reflecting this cultural and religious connection. While we respect diverse regional associations with saints, altering established historical facts for linguistic or regional pride can distort history and mislead readers.
I urge the community to take a neutral and fact-based approach to the subject. If sources claim alternative origins for Kannappa, they should be clearly cited and presented alongside other perspectives without overriding the predominant narrative. Wikipedia's purpose is to present verified information in a neutral manner, and we should avoid allowing personal or regional biases to affect the content.
Let's ensure that we honor both historical accuracy and the principles of neutrality that Wikipedia upholds.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sroheethicloud (talk) 07:43, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
