Article: Kang and Kodos

General

[edit]
  • Need to replace "they are" sentence structure with something more complex.
    • I have removed all but one instance.
  • Avoid run-ons and fragments
  • The Simpsons (television show) and "The Simpsons" (episode)
    • Also, Treehouse of Horror (when referring to the group in general) should be italicized.
  • Avoid using it, them, they, etc. when a proper noun or common noun is available for use.
  • Many mistakes with prose and MOS. Few are listed below.

[edit]

Character

[edit]

Creation

[edit]
  • Harry Shearer voices Kang and Dan Castellaneta voices Kodos and usually the writers can't remember who voices whom. The first voices they used for Kang and Kodos were not deep at all but were more high pitched and whiny.[15]
Both are run on sentences.  Done
  • Although quite often they will be forgotten and are added at the last second, leading to some of their appearances being short.
Fragment  Done
  • They were originally animated so that they were constantly drooling and Matt Groening suggested that they not drool all the time so as to make it easier on the animators.
Run-on  Done

Reception

[edit]
  • "Treehouse of Horror VII" is Simpsons creator Matt Groening's seventh favorite episode, and the line he likes best is Kodos' "We have reached the limit of what rectal probing can teach us."[30]
Kodos is ONE person. Thus, it is Kodos's.  Done
Avoid run on sentences.  Done

Thanks for reviewing the article. This was one of those "well it looks pretty good, why not try it?" articles, so it's not as good as it could be. I will get to work on it later today. About the images, they are constantly changing as new users keep adding new ones and removing old ones, but I'll work on the rationales for them. -- Scorpion0422 14:24, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
About the stability, it is pretty stable, it's just that every now and then an IP changes their gender. This is because in one episode Kodos was referred to as "my sister Kodos". However, in several episodes (before and since) he is referred to as "he", so I figured we should put it as unknown. Some IPs who have not seen recent episodes disagree. However, it is not common enough to be called a full blown edit war. -- Scorpion0422 14:27, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Update I have done an overhaul and copyedit of the page. Is it better now? -- Scorpion0422 15:22, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You still have issues with prose. miranda 21:02, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Any specifics/examples? -- Scorpion0422 21:11, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Avoid using it, them, they, etc. when a proper noun or common noun is available for use. - find instances of "they are", "it is", etc. and replace them with complex sentence structure or proper nouns. If you need help, ask for copyediting assistance. miranda 23:08, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've done another copyedit, better? -- Scorpion0422 16:30, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Little better. You might want to get a copyeditor from your project to go through the article. miranda 20:54, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Had to do some major copyediting due to neglecting of prose. Thus, that's a deduction of some points. But, I will pass this article. miranda 08:53, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
