Why "infamous"?
[edit]The original writer states, "The Kane Gang are infamous for providing the music for the 'Ooh Gary Davies...on your radio' jingle . . . ." Is this mere ignorance (did the writer intend to convey the meaning of "famous" instead?), or was the music rooted in or did it result in infamy?

- Frankly, from my own memory, the Kane Gang were neither infamous nor famous for this feat (or honestly, any other for that matter). At best they were oddly noteworthy - perhaps it was deemed (vaguely) strange for a pop group to be supplying a jingle for a disc jockey - certainly not unique though. The present article's wording is at fault. Although you may struggle to find a better source than I can provide.
It wasn't unusual for Radio 1 jingles to be bastardised versions of records of the time. I'm also not convinved that the Davies jingle was even them - it sounded like a "Topo of the Pops"-album style pastiche to me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.102.121.85 (talk) 12:23, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
