Activities change
Made a slight change to activities - Just thought it may look a bit cleaner. If you do not like it feel free to pull it out. Markco1 22:56, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
Miscellaneous
Added athletics and fight song sections. SJHAGoalie (talk) 09:06, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
- Who deleted my additions? SJHAGoalie (talk) 20:44, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
I agree with both of the above posts. I'll remove Fall of Troy from the first paragraph and put their information in the notable alumni section, and I'll put Billy Bergen back. Billy's famous in Mukilteo and he deserves to be there as much as Jennifer Gregerson and that Carl guy. Chuck.gamble (talk) 07:32, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
Alright I just looked over the changes you made, they look fantastic, I appreciate your efforts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.56.96.160 (talk) 08:11, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, that was difficult to edit because it kept breaking and deleting whole sections which I didn't intend, but I put everything back as it was before -- except for the external links section which it didn't let me add -- and made the changes we agreed on. Chuck.gamble (talk) 08:23, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
Someone keeps deleting B. Bergen from the page. Whoever it is, this is vandalism. Billy's very well known around greater Mukilteo, more than anyone else mentioned on this page. 68.181.221.32 (talk) 21:17, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
Guys, a bunch of people keep deleting B. Bergen. How many of us does it take to agree? Please report these people for vandalism. 128.125.140.126 (talk) 16:55, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Who is Elliot Perrigo? No one noteworthy. And yeah, where's B. Bergen in all this? People know him; no one knows Elliot Perrigo. 74.61.24.69 (talk) 09:27, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
I'm from Ellensburg and even I've heard of Billy Bergen, his antics have made him an icon of the state and representative of the school. In fact one might go so far as to say that Billy Bergen is the Colbert or Stewart, he's a comedic genius and icon, his use of "lolz" has spring boarded an entire generation of humor. I see no reason as to why this "Elliot Perrigo" some no name donut fetcher wanna be Billy Bergen has any merit to the notable alumni section. 69.56.96.185 (talk) 07:14, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
I agree with the previous 2 posts, good luck with that I guess, but don't remove the legend B. Bergen from the wiki page. Whoever the vandal is needs to stop. Viva B Bergen!!! 71.113.58.196 (talk) 07:20, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
Deleted notable alumni section. It was not at all comprehensive, only involving people who made a point of putting themselves up over and over (like Elliot Perrigo), and some band containing members not even from Kamiak. Don't make Wikipedia pages for your friends, guys. 24.143.108.19 (talk) 18:21, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
Deleted the uncited debate winners from the "debate team" section under programs. The majority of these titles are put up by team members themselves who are merely looking for more publicity. Fitzgerald's fine since he's at least got a secondary source, but the rest like Jamis and Lawrenz are just on an ego trip. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.186.29.244 (talk) 20:17, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
Billy Bergen
The fact of the matter is that this Billy guy has not been the subject of any independent secondary sources, nor have any of the claims made on this talkpage been verified, validated, referenced or otherwise backed up. This is the notable alumni section, meaning that the people are worthy of note. Notability in Wikipedia is established by first having been the subject of something like a newspaper article. Merely being well-known in his home town is NOT grounds for notability. PumeleonT 07:51, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
Removed unverified or insubstantial entries. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.17.255.203 (talk) 10:05, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- I'll admit that there was little good reason for me to recommend any past edit-outs of Billy Bergen as vandalism, as there are indeed no sources for this character. Of course, getting a source is made easier if the description proves true: of Billy Bergen is really such a hometown hero, couldn't you persuade a newspaper or online publication to write a proper article about him? Elm-39 (talk) 15:38, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
No, the Mukilteo Beacon should NOT be encouraged to aid the egotistical like they do too much already by publishing articles about people during their five minutes of fame. There are plenty of issues facing the community and biographies are not one of them. But I do know B. Bergen and he IS a hometown hero. When he does something new, noteworthy (unlike those Perrigo's who publish articles when they don't get into UW), I'll call the Beacon. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.181.221.138 (talk) 09:01, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
Hey! I come on here for the first time in years and where is Billy Bergen? News flash: as much as you might want Wikipedia to be perfect, the perfect is the enemy of the good. Just because B. Bergen hasn't called up the Beacon and asked for his name to be published, you propose to keep him out? Most of the information on this page isn't substantiated by outside sources, and if B. Bergen is deleted, I will insist that everything on this page be backed by outside sources. There wouldn't be any information on there at all, now would there? Consider the feasibility of your demands before you make them, then recognize that Billy Bergen is a hero in Greater Mukilteo, far greater than Marko Liias (whose information is not substantiated,) and this Fallen Troy band is defunct and no one cares about them. I graduated from this school in 2003 and I want people learning about a hero who saved 4 from a fire rather than some terrible, and terribly self-important, band. 76.169.144.148 (talk) 22:06, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
