Kalibo Airport → Kalibo International Airport — Back in 2008 there was already a move to rename what is the current name of the airport (Kalibo Airport) to reflect its status as an international airport. This move was reverted by editors (including myself) since this airport at the time was not classified as an international airport, despite receiving international flights. Now the times have changed. The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines has reclassified this airport as an international airport, and news media (and even the general public) increasingly refer to the airport as "Kalibo International Airport". As such, it is suggested that this article be moved to its rightful name. --Sky Harbor (talk) 02:29, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

update the "Airlines and Destinations" section
[edit]Governor Carlito Marquez of Aklan cited in an interview over a local radio station in Kalibo, that there are:
two weekly flights of China Southern Airlines from Pudong, China, Spirit of Manila Airlines from Taipei, Taiwan and Zest Air from Incheon, South Korea with six weekly flights. Philippine Airlines from Taipei, Taiwan and China Mandarin Airlines from Taichung, China and Taipei, Taiwan also contributed to the increasing number of tourists to Aklan and the island of Boracay with two weekly regional flights.
Marquez said the new airline company Spirit of Manila Airlines owned by Filipino and Chinese businessmen will acquire six 145-seat brand new airplanes for the proposed two flights daily to Kalibo from Taipei.
Spirit of Manila Airlines flew more than 2,000 tourists from Taipei, Taiwan to Kalibo International Airport after its airline operations last July 2, the governor said. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kaliboaklan (talk • contribs) 01:44, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

- Those however are charter flights. As a stylistic guideline from the Aviation WikiProject, charters are not listed in destination lists. --Sky Harbor (talk) 14:22, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
