Why speedy deletion?

[edit]

The page Kakkmaddafakka has been nominated for speedy deletion. Why delete this page, when the whole of the Norwegian music section is in a terrible state and needs updating and this is a relevant band at the centre of the New 'Bergen Wave'? There are many bands listed on the Norwegian musical groups page which could be argued as irrelevant, for example, You Never Had Your Car, Neptune Towers, The carburetors, I could go on to list many of the black metal bands which seem to be on here, no matter how insignificant they are...

KAKKMADDAFAKKA are too good to be deleted you moronic imbeciles. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.147.129.112 (talk) 21:08, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

KAKKMADDAFAKKA have played hundreds of gigs in Norway and many outside of Norway in high profile festivals. They have been nominated for a MTV Europe award and used on Vodafone commercials in Albania. They reached number 20 in the Norwegian album charts, appear frequently in the Norwegian media and have had articles about them in places such as Japan and Mexico. Why are they considered worthy of deletion?

The current wave of music coming out of Bergen is creating much interest worldwide, and KAKKMADDAFAKKA are at the centre of this scene. The Bergen Wave page needs much improvement, and it won't be long before The New Bergen Wave need an entry, featuring other bands like Casiokids, The New Wine, Micropops, Matias Tellez and Kommode.

This article clearly states a credible claim of significance or importance which has been supported by a reliable source. So where's the problem?

Let's discuss this... (Bergenblogger (talk) 07:21, 19 February 2009 (UTC))[reply]

The speedy deletion nomination has been declined. Kakkmaddafakka¨should be notable enough for wikipedia. Rettetast (talk) 12:21, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Name?

[edit]

Their name seems a bit strange. Is it just supposed to sound like Cock Motherfucker, or is that a coincidence? I've heard a radio DJ claim it meant something entirely innocent in norwegian.Fzwoberlin (talk) 06:48, 15 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, why are they called that way? Nicrorus (talk) 02:58, 30 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Kakkmaddafakka" in norwegian means "party animals". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ornirond (talkcontribs) 11:58, 28 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Well, not in Norwegian, but in a code language called "Ballabang", developed in Bergen in the 1990ies (see [[1]]) 85.178.251.22 (talk) 16:48, 29 May 2014 (UTC) EvaIna[reply]
