[edit]The article was nominated by another editor for deletion. However, this is a known Punjabi tribe of Jat origin (distinct from the Afghan tribe of Kakars). Is it possible editors can come together and write a better referenced article? I am sure I have come across references in studies of prominent Kakker chieftains aiding the Sikh Gurus and having positions within the Lahore Darbar. I will try also --Shanti bhai (talk) 12:18, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
- I am in full agreement with Shanti bhai here. This article was solely created for the purpose of distinguishing between the Kakkars of the Punjab and the Pashtun tribe of Kakar. These two groups are different in every respect, and I did not feel it would do justice to either one if only one article existed, describing two unrelated peoples. I am glad the result was to keep the article. Hopefully some work can be done on it to bring it up to par. --zargar (talk) 05:18, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
What?
[edit]The following statement in the current version of the article is mockery of truth, wikipedia, and ethics.
- . What Kakkar rule is being talked about here? When did Kakkar's rule North India? This is absolutely rubbish claim in the statement.
- . Guru Nanak wrote about the greatness of Kakar's? ..what a joke? Not sure how this type of stuff can even survive for 5 mins on Wikipedia? Its even a shame and useless effort to ask the contributor of these lines to provide references from AGGS where Guru Nanak wrote this as this statement is an obnoxious lie.

Kakkar (sometimes spelled as Kakar) are a Punjabi clan found in India and Pakistan . Kakkars are found among Hindu/Sikh as well as Muslims . Hindu/Sikh Kakkar are found among Khatris .
“ | among the Chopra , Kapur ,Kakkar ,Khanne, and Malothra , Khatris [1] | ” |
Some Kakkar or Kakar were converted to Islam and are found among Punjabi and Pashtun Muslims .
The Kakkars or Kakar originally belong to areas of West Punjab and NWFP which now fall in Pakistan and are recorded in the Census reports of Denzil Ibbetson and Rose .in the Glossary of casts of the Punjab and North West-Frontier Province .

[edit]- My comments are uncivil? I will call it as I see it. Once again you trump up "abuse" accusations to avoid discussion points which I have posted FOUR TIMES now (five with this). My edit summary comments are nothing compared to what you've been known to do; if you want discussion READ MY POSTS on your talk page. This is unbelievably frustrating; once again you ignore everything I write to cry about a supposed "insult".
- "Uncivil" is calling people out and then ignoring their points to call them abusive; fabricating accusations of sockpuppetry; trying (however laughably) to play mind games with other users; and all-in-all just making edits that are blatant in their poor quality (poorly written as well as obviously POV) with archaic sources. "Uncivil" is all over your talk page.
- "Reliable source"? An orientalist piece from 1911 is the best you can come up with? There have been much newer research that has been done, why don't you use those?
- "CitationS" there was only one fact you tried to cite: that Kakkars were Khatris, when they are well-known Jatts. Who are you trying to fool? Your quote didn't even make sense. You did not cite these statements, but simply threw them on: Kakar Pashtuns are converted Khatris 2) that Kakkars are significantly Hindu as opposed to Sikh. (The ones you added were from Goa, Mumbai, with no mention of Punjab.)BTW, I am not a Kakkar; this is simply one of many Jatt articles you try to dictate to your terms.
- I erase your comments from my talk page because you don't discuss anything, you just accuse me of (false) sockpuppetry, and deleting your work from several articles, which was also of pitiful quality. If you're going to make up facts to suit your prejudices at least write them in proper English, hm?
- If you have nothing to offer besides POV and lies, just leave the article alone as a stub. Reply to "3swordzreply4" on your talk page in particular if you wanted a discussion on "Kakkar".
"among the Chopra , Kapur , Kakkar ,Khanne, and Malothra , Khatris" Nice, LOL. 3swordz (talk) 10:11, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
