@Iazyges: ? I assume you meant to draw my attention to the dead link, but I actually fixed that some time ago after seeing the above. The link would have been an ELMAYBE even if I could see it, but there are dozens of Kakinomoto shrines all over Japan and that is not even apparently one of the more important ones, so I removed it. Prose Suggestions

[edit]
  • He was the most prominent of the poets included in the Man'yōshū, suggest He was the most prominent of the poets included in the Man'yōshū, the oldest compilation of Japanese poetry,
  • @Hijiri88: That is all my suggestions. Apologies for the long wait. Just noticed that:

In Akashi, Hyōgo Prefecture there is a Kakinomoto Shrine dedicated to him, commemorating an early Heian belief that Hitomaro's spirit came to rest in Akashi, an area the historical Hitomaro probably visited multiple times. Hitomaro is today ranked, along with Fujiwara no Teika, Sōgi and Bashō, as one of the four greatest poets in Japanese history. is uncited, will pass as soon as this is fixed. @Iazyges: If you check the code, there was actually an invisible comment explaining how it was already sourced, but went ahead and included the source anyway.[1] Hijiri 88 (やや) 22:56, 20 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
