Both is not true!

In Eastern Europe, the product is known as kabanos, a name derived from the Turkish word "kaban" (hog). Polish and Ukrainian kabanos is sometimes made from horsemeat. Both is not true!

  1. the Turkish word kaban means a coat, hooded jacket, half-length coat, jacket, anorak ... (and hog is Turkish: büyük domuz!)
  2. Polish or Ukrainian kabanos, (pl. kabanosi, kabanossi, cabanossi ...) are made from pork and beef
  3. Donkey and horse meat were (and are) the (ancient) original classic ingredients of all air dried salami in all countries of the Mediterranean - in classical antiquity (in Italy, Greece …)! - 87.245.91.33 (talk) 10:00, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In 2011, when Polish manufacturers submitted scientific proofs of kabanos' Polish origins from their historians, ...
