references?
[edit]This article has been tagged for several months with reference concerns. Are there any reliable references for the informatino, particularly the history sections?--Rtphokie (talk) 21:28, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
Move to 'Defunct Stations'?
[edit]With KDFC moving to the 90.3 frequency and KUSF going online-only effective January 24, 2011, it would make sense to classify this station as 'defunct' in the infobox. Of course, that will likely have to wait until all of the call letter changes officially go into effect. --Fightingirish (talk) 02:47, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
Please pardon the chaos...
[edit]Format changes like this, where the call sign goes to another frequency, can be a bit messy. Essentially, this entry (as well as the one for KDFC-FM) actually reflects two stations. I started a page for the new occupant of the 102.1 signal (KUZX, the call sign that was requested by Entercom to the FCC. Hope this helps the transition.
The plan I envision for this, once the call sign switches become official, would be to have the KDFC page reflect its new home at 91.3. The KUSF page will reflect a defunct station and KDFC's former home at 102.1 has the new page. For the time being, 91.3 is still legally KUSF, which is why it is what it is.
So, if you're wondering why there's two infoboxes here, that best sums it up. Seemed like the best way to do this, and it is only temporary. For anyone who feels the need to change either of the pages in the interim, please keep this in mind.--Fightingirish (talk) 01:45, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
Moving pages
[edit]The KDFC call sign is legally assigned to the station in Angwin, CA. This frequency is still officially KUSF. Therefore, I did a little moving around. 90.3 FM in San Francisco is now a new article, called KUSF (FM), to minimize confusion with the old KUSF article. The old KUSF was moved to KUSF (defunct), since there is quite a bit there in regard to it. KUSF is now a disambiguation page. Seems to be the best way to work out this rather confusing situation, and I hope it's acceptable to everyone.--Fightingirish (talk) 16:43, 5 December 2011 (UTC)
Requested move 1 February 2017
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: moved to KUSF (University of San Francisco) (non-admin closure). feminist 12:29, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
KUSF (defunct) → KUSF.org – KUSF is still operating at the University of San Francisco by Miranda Morris and students of the University. The page should reflect that it is an online only station that is still using the same resources as when it did when KUSF had an FM signal. See usfca.edu/kusf for more information. --Kusforg (talk) 00:38, 1 February 2017 (UTC)
- Rename to KUSF (University of San Francisco). Far less ambiguous than the current name or the proposed name. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:52, 3 February 2017 (UTC)
- Support this alternative proposal. Note that the username of nom is probably inappropriate and suggests a COI. Andrewa (talk) 19:24, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
- Comment: Nom is also a recently created single topic account. I have raised the issues on their talk page. Andrewa (talk) 19:45, 8 February 2017 (UTC)

- Support Necrothesp's alternative rather than the original proposal. Even for a website, the article title should normally be just the thing's name itself, not its URL, so Necrothesp's alternative is the better disambiguation choice. Bearcat (talk) 19:33, 8 February 2017 (UTC)

Post move - nom is now blocked
[edit]Nom turns out to be a shared account, and because of the inappropriate username the account is now blocked indefinitely (but the sharing would be an equally good justification for the block).
The users are paid employees of the organisation, see User talk:Kusforg#Reply to Andrewa's Concerns, so the paid editing policy also applies. However subject to these policies and guidelines they are of course more than welcome back... with appropriate user names and separate single-user accounts of course.
