[edit]It would be interesting to note that there is an email circulating since 2004 that mentions them erroneously as you can see on this website http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/gatordeer.asp. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.227.2.72 (talk) 18:59, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
A thought...many folks are interested in the transmitting equipment used by TV stations, and especially transmitters and antennas. Request someone who knows add info on current (and former, if at all possible) broadcast equipment used at KTBS-TV. I remember vaguely that KTBS-TV had a Dumont second backup transmitter in the late 70's, that sort of info would be welcome to TV historians. General comment for all stations, but especially of interest personally for KTBS-TV.Sparky4853397 (talk) 04:29, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
Adding unreferenced entries of former employees to lists containing BLP material
[edit]Hello, Please do not add unreferenced or improperly referenced names as entries to the list of former employees in the article. A pre-existing article in Wikipedia for the person may demonstrate notability for inclusion. Not including this type of material in articles abides by current consensus and is strongly discouraged in our policies and guidelines. The rationales are as follows:
- WP:NOT tells us, Wikipedia is "not an indiscriminate collection of information." As that section describes, just because something is true, doesn't necessarily mean the info belongs in Wikipedia.
- As per WP:V, we cannot include information in Wikipedia that is not verifiable and sourced.
- WP:NLIST tells us that lists included within articles (including people's names) are subject to the same need for references as any other information in the article.
- Per WP:BLP, we have to be especially careful about including un-sourced info about living persons.
If you look at articles about companies in general, you will not find mention of previous employees, except in those cases where the employee was particularly notable. Even then, the information is not presented just as a list of names, but is incorporated into the text itself (for example, when a company's article talks about the policies a previous CEO had, or when they mention the discovery/invention of a former engineer/researcher). thanks Deconstructhis (talk) 18:05, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
- I've made my feelings known about this sort of thing in the past. In short, I view the real issue here as one of WP:WTAF. When it's obvious that there are A LOT of notable people out there in the world who do not have Wikipedia articles, blanket declarations of non-notability simply by virtue of lack of an article would appear disingenuous (or, in the more obvious cases, would perhaps reflect a lack of a grip on reality). As it specifically pertains to KTBS, are you going to tell me that Reisor Bowden isn't notable simply because no one has written an article yet? I would be inclined to call bullshit, considering that his job as the station's booth announcer led to a 14-year stint as an on-air personality for two of the major professional wrestling promotions of that era. What does anyone else think? RadioKAOS – Talk to me, Billy 12:23, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
