Jaws premiere, Sault Ste. Marie Canada 1976

[edit]

I was 10 1/2 years old that summer. Camping in pancake bay Canada was a tradition. The kids including me said we would be fine to watch Jaws and take the bus home after it was over. And being kids we stayed for the second showing of jaws. It was a chilly evening. And soon we found ourselves alone in front of the close theater. And apprehensive feeling yes but a sinking feeling when I realized we had told her parents not to pick us up. Now I have to trust these silly kids to navigate correctly. It was a dark and insanely soundless night. So we begin the walk home . A few bridges a few hills as we start up the biggest bridge I’ve yet to cross that evening I see a familiar truck cresting the top of the largest hill we’ve encountered thus far. We were ecstatic with him for joy. The truck/momndad came closer and it’s been increased. And it wasn’t mom and dad it was the ghosts of our friends teenage son and his girlfriend who were killed a few years before walking home from school. Didn’t know who it was but I knew at the time it wasn’t my mom and dad in the vehicle whipped around pulled alongside of us and my dad and her dad we’re in the front saying get in let’s go we were confused, startled ,cold, super scared and didn’t notice how drunk they were until they got out of the truck and tried to go into the house sleeping and falling. It was so opposite of the scary feeling I was feeling I laughed extremely hard then and I think of it now and still have a flood of emotions that I can’t contain and I laugh out loud I cry out loud thank God I got past it but the movie the movie the movie was the best scary movie ever ever for all time. 2600:8800:1E0E:200:53E:2ECB:C1C9:11AD (talk) 17:29, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
