Fair use rationale for Image:KOCB.gif
[edit]Image:KOCB.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Can Anyone Confirm This So We Can See If This Article Needs to Be Updated?
[edit]Someone uploaded this promo to YouTube where it says KAUT will be taking The CW affiliation. Can anyone confirm this? Zimi789 (talk) 06:51, 28 August 2023 (UTC)
I would like to discuss eliminating the "History" and "Programming" sections of this article entirely.
[edit]The article is much, much too long. A detailed discussion of all of the station's legal and financial troubles isn't necessary; neither is an in-depth description of their programming.
This is meant as the opening of a discussion. Ormewood (talk) 22:34, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Ormewood I think I can explain this. This is one of a number of articles primarily written by User:Tvtonightokc. His pages tend to be decent on the referencing front, but the writing style is incredibly verbose and given to unnecessary tangents. Compare this with KAUT-TV, which I wrote. Same market, about the same age, but this article is 70% longer and much more of a slog to read. I have worked with multiple Tvtonightokc pages and conducted "sludge removal" on them. This page needs the same treatment. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 01:24, 1 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Sammi Brie My inclination is to just remove those sections entirely rather than to try to extract something appropriately concise out of that mass of text, but if you have the patience for that by all means go for it.
- That guy needs to just go ahead and write his book. Ormewood (talk) 15:39, 1 July 2024 (UTC)
- I've assisted Sammi Brie on these rewrites (it is by no means a one-person effort, and she often refers to me as her 🦝 partner-in-crime lol) and the rewrite of KFOR-TV was our first joint GA in this topic field. It's possible with this article, but needless to say, a cleanup crew of editors should probably be recruited. Nathan Obral • he/him • t • c • 10:54, 2 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Ormewood We just finished shearing the sheep. The size reduction is 56.6%, which is not uncommon for Tvtonightokc sludge cleanup.
- Previously: 35400 characters / 5415 words readable prose / 104 references
- As of now: 14771 characters / 2349 words readable prose / 84 references

- @Sammi Brie Congratulations, and many thanks. Ormewood (talk) 13:40, 5 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Ormewood There are still maybe 25 to 30 pages? that need this treatment, including most of the major TV stations in Oklahoma and some very, very large stations that require all hands on deck to shear. I can't do it alone. I can't even do all of them with just Nathan. If you feel like shearing more sheep, send me a message or hop in WP:DISCORD and find me. Broadcasting pages are my specialty.
