I don't understand why, but for some reason I am getting notifications for every review comment by @DoctorWhoFan91 and @Sammi Brie, on this GA review, and the KSTV GA review. Weird, any ideas to stop it? It is a wonderful world (talk) 18:58, 24 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

    • Looks like IABot failed to give it an access date. I've done at least that.
  • Was JazzWest reliable?
    • @DoctorWhoFan91: I can't find much about them, as it seems to have been a regional specialty site and is no longer active (for years it has trumpeted a "soon" return on its site). The bio of the author states, Michael Handler is a freelance jazz writer and photographer who lives in Oakland, CA. He has written for Downbeat, JazzNow, and several other publications. Interestingly, he still hosts jazz radio in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and his bio at KSFR indicates that he was a DJ and host at KJAZ in the 80s. We have an article on DownBeat.     • Decided to drop this since I couldn't find the wording in the source.

    • I feel like I went through this at the last GA review:: "broadcast" is a verb, too.
      • yes, but the former is present simple, the other is past simple
        • It is also a past-tense word.
  • Voices heard on the station: Confusing, does this mean a viewer's voice?  Done
    • No, it means some of their announcers. Changed to "announcers"
  • telephone lines from Alameda: Is there a word missing?  Done
    • No. The station had its own telephone lines to carry audio of concerts and the like back to its studios.
      • so something like ranging/extending/running/etc could be added between "lines" and "from"?

KREV: Ed Stolz ownership

  • Shouldn't you mention here and in lead who Ed Stolz is, just his name makes it sound like his is a famous name  Done
    • There's no biography of him. He was a previous owner of some other stations (namely KUDL in Sacramento). Additional information on Stolz would be out of scope; given the depth of his stations' bankruptcy case (this is the primary article that discusses it at this time), he might merit the GNG. Left a redlink here.
      • just something like "longtime station operator Ed Stolz" would be good
        • Added another sentence to satisfy this.

  • Last para- very confusing: "was close with Willie Brown" seems non-sequitar, wooing the uni is fraught, how is this related or fraught; "into the matter"- the word woo did not make it sound like it needed an investigation; "which centered on"- same as the prev sentence, nothing made it sound like it was wrong; last sentence is fine.  Done
    • Cowan might call for an article at some point. The main point is that Brown had an in with California state lawmakers and officials and was using it to pitch them on locating in his development. Cowan's story is kind of wild: in part of his financial collapse at this time, a judge ordered the items from his mansion seized to make up for his missed alimony payments ([1]). I have reworded this a bit.
