Information error - it's titled the "KCBS-TV/FM tower. They sold it in Nov 2009...
[edit]It's now owned by Richland Towers out of Tampa , FL. The title needs to be changed to the "Richland Towers Facility". See <http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/AsrSearch/asrRegistration.jsp?regKey=99584>

[edit]- The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. The result of the move request was: No consensus. Evidence was presented for both sides of the discussion, but no proof that can be referenced of the new name. The merge recommendation was not taken into account either; recommend possibly proposing a merge discussion via instructions on WP:MERGE. KCBS-TV/FM Tower → Richland Towers Facility – See IP request above. This looks to be something that may need discussion rather than unilateral action. Relisted. Jenks24 (talk) 13:09, 2 April 2013 (UTC) Deor (talk) 11:35, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
- Comment does 173.51.10.223 (talk · contribs) have any proof it is called "Richland Towers Facility"? Such a generic name could refer to the office building where the headquarters of Richland Towers is located, or any other facility it operates or owns. The FCC link used as proof does not show a name, only its address at 123 CBS Lane r/n: 1012836 f/n: A0657226 ; I suppose it could be called FCC Antenna Structure Registration 1012836 -- 65.92.180.137 (talk) 14:04, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
- The Richland Web site appears to refer to this tower just by its address of "123 CBS Lane". On the other hand, this shows that KCBS-FM still transmits from the tower, so perhaps the only change needed is the removal of the "TV" portion of the title (if indeed KCBS-TV no longer uses the tower). In a quick search I haven't found any guidelines for the naming of this sort of article, and I've found some evidence that a bunch of articles on such relatively unremarkable transmission towers were deleted back in 2006. Perhaps the article should just be merged to the KCBS-FM article. Deor (talk) 03:23, 25 March 2013 (UTC)
New comment 3/30/2013 0400 Pacific time: CBS sold the site after they installed the nwe digital transmitter into the channel 9 building on Mt Wilson. The Richland Tower on Mt Wilson is no longer used by any part of CBS TV or radio. My info is all second hand and from web research, I just go up to Mt Wilson every so often to service some other equipment and chat with the folks that are based up there and that go to the SBE meetings. Maybe it would be appropriate to have someone from Richland contribute to this page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.51.10.223 (talk) 11:03, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose I see no good evidence for the proposed name. As the IP said, is this the only Richland Towers facility? --BDD (talk) 23:56, 18 April 2013 (UTC)
