[edit]Interesting note: According to the Schaff-Herzog Encyclopedia of Religious Knowledge at [1], some time after Luther's death during tumultuous times, a Spanish officer hired to assassinate Jonas revealed his intent after being thoroughly impressed by Jonas' piety, integrity and kindness.
