What could be simpler than an indication of the written opinion of the Holy See condemned the alleged nefarious nature of the work of Fr. Pranajtisa? Such a document should appear by the second Vatican council in view of the significant warming of relations between Catholicism and Judaism.

Galassi: Why did you delete the "Criticism" category? --Noleander (talk) 14:09, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A pseudoscientist doesn't qualify for such an inclusion.-Galassi (talk) 14:38, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand your logic. Numerous secondary sources identify Pranaitis as an antisemitic critic of Judaism and the Talmud. Do you have any sources that say he was not a critic? --Noleander (talk) 22:39, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Talmud Unamsked: not critical?

[edit]

Isnt the book critical of the Talmud? --Noleander (talk) 22:28, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

For details, see info at [1] ... Antisemitism: a historical encyclopedia of prejudice and persecution, Volume 2 By Richard S. Levy, p 564. --Noleander (talk) 22:33, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

To the contributor of this article

[edit]

Hello, I tried to create an article named " The Talmud unmasked " in english in order to adapt a french version (Le Talmud démasqué) which is now under process of edition: http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discussion:Le_Talmud_d%C3%A9masqu%C3%A9, but I did not succeeded because the key words " The Talmud Unmasked " are redirected to this page. Could you advise ? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Haneelam (talkcontribs) 11:19, 9 January 2011 (UTC) --Haneelam (talk) 11:21, 9 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Follow these steps:
  1. In WP Search field, type in "The Talmud Unmasked".
  2. That will cause the Justinas Pranaitis article to appear.
  3. At the top of the JP article will be the phrase: "Redirected from The Talmud Unmasked" (final 3 words will be blue)
  4. Click on the blue words "The Talmud Unmasked"
  5. That will cause the Talmud Unmasked page to appear. Note that the page is a small "redirect" page.
  6. Click on the blue word "Edit" at the very top of that page
  7. You are now editing the "Talmud Unmasked" page.
  8. Delete the phase "#REDIRECT Justinas Pranaitis" inside the edit box
  9. Insert any text you want (such as the English translation of the French article)
  10. Click the "Save Page" button at the bottom
That is how to do it. --Noleander (talk) 17:19, 9 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Noleander,I have linked both articles, if you find orthography mistakes or others, you are welcome to modify, the full translation of the french version (including notes) should be finished by early next week. Regards.

Costin's description of the Beilis trial

[edit]

Since you apparently read Jews on Trial, can you tell me what pages of Pranaitis' testimony Costin refers to? They are online in transcript; I just went through them and didn't see any of these questions or answers. Thanks 71.163.114.49 (talk) 19:14, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

more info on the trial questions

[edit]

This is an article by Shnayer Leiman about how Benzion Katz contributed to the defense questions that would prove Pranaitis didn't know what he was talking about. It's very information and includes more than 3 questions. It was published in the magazine Traditions, Volume 42, Number 4.

Also see http://ldn-knigi.lib.ru/JUDAICA/StenBeil/Beilis_Steno.htm which has the stenographic record of the trial. Volume 2 Part 3 has the Pranaitis testimony. It gives only a few of the questions proposed by Katz, none of them the Baba Bathra question so far as I have translated (not done yet). IMHO that question would have led to an examination of the expert to which the prosecuting attorneys strenuously objected at every point in the trial, and also to lengthy explanations. It was not an effective use of time. Either the defense attorneys wisely didn't ask the question, or the objections of the prosecution led to it being left out of the transcript. Katz's memory may say otherwise but we can't ask him, he died the year after I was born. I have on the other hand emailed Mr. Leiman about it. 71.163.114.49 (talk) 14:36, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Defrocked

[edit]

Article mentions that Pranaitis was already defrocked by Beilis trial, and then in section 'Later life' it says Pranaitis was later defrocked, which gives the impression he was defrocked after the Beilis trial(again?). 86.114.203.142 (talk) 07:18, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
