Exaggerated accent
[edit]I'd like to try and find a source that might back up my suspicions about the strength of his accent, which is obviously exaggerated for his persona. I can't be the only born-and-bred Bristolian to think this. Davetibbs 11:14, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
His accent is put on a bit. I live down the road from the guy, and have spoken to him a few times (most recently bumping into him in Borders, where he asked me whether Wii games work on Playstations............). He does put it on. He over pronounces certain words on purpose on the telly. That's the difference Kind of like British people doing a comedy New York Accent - "I wanna kwup of Kowfee". That's Justing Lee Collins and his Bristollian accent
Recent polls have indicated that more people want Justin Lee Collins off the Television, than people who actually watch him on a whopping 9:1 ratio against. - Probably true, but is there a source for that? andy29 19:08, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
He's a refreshing change. About time there was a comedian from Bristol on our screens. That poll was probably gathered in London. Channel 4 take note : More JLC. (His agent)
Is it just me, or this noo-wave stuff complete fiction?
I'm thinking that all this is made up. But then, I don't get JLC or his brand of comedy anyway. Less JLC = Better Television. (Pally01 11:42, 6 April 2006 (UTC))
I've never heard of the noo-wave brand of comedy neither. However, the wikipedia entry on Justin Lee Collins, seems to be more opinionated than anything else.
Yeah I just read that noo wave stuff, sounds like rubbish to me, also what happened to the list of JLCs presenting roles?
JLC is great. A real laugh.
- This article is totally unencyclopaedic and totally unacceptable for WP. All the disputed POV text was inserted by one anonymous IP - 62.140.193.86 - on 15 March 2006. I was tempted to revert the whole article back to the version before that, however that would lose a number of good edits made since then. Instead, I'll delete all the unacceptably POV text to clean it up a bit and take it back to an encyclopaedic, if rather short, article. DWaterson 21:39, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
Photo
[edit]Why delete my pic? Jealous? d_winchy
Can somebody change the photo so it's just Justin on his own? Why do we need the happy gormless looking twat who's next to him? Speedboy Salesman 22:03, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
- I agree. I will see if I can find a suitable free one. Not sure the chav (ref: hoodie worn over cap and vacant expression) is necessary. Davetibbs 12:24, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- OK, I've cropped the image and uploaded it to Commons. Sorry to D Winchy - your moments of fame are over! DWaterson 12:39, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- I've uploaded a new picture I took on Saturday, I hope you all prefer it. Tomun 17:42, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- Much better - thanks Tomun Davetibbs 11:59, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Turns out he's a trucker's mate!
[edit]Apparently old "lowvar ball" (note the faux West country accent) JLC from Bristol kept a file on his ex's sexual history. As someone noted five years ago, nine times more people wanted him off their screens than on television! Hopefully this might finally happen as he goes the showbiz way a al Barrymore.86.149.182.8 (talk) 13:31, 26 September 2012 (UTC)
- Maybe I'm part of the wrong demographic, but I'd never heard of this bloke until the sexual harassment stuff. Given his new notoriety as a wrong'un I suppose there's no chance of getting rid of this artice as not WP:NOTABLE. --Ef80 (talk) 18:04, 9 October 2012 (UTC)
- Considering the significant danger he poses to women, it's good that this article exists, especially as it has a fairly recent and high definition photograph of him. LoveEverybodyUnconditionally (talk) 23:51, 9 December 2017 (UTC)
Charity work
[edit]I just removed this from the "Personal" section:
- He is a patron of the charity Bristol Kids, run by [[Heart Bristol]], a radio station based in Bristol.<ref>{{cite web | url = http://www.gwrfmbristol.co.uk/Article.asp?id=400914&spid=15800|title = Justin Lee Collins – Patron | accessdate = 7 April 2008}}{{deadlink|date=October 2012}}</ref>
The link is no longer active, and I can't even tell if the charity itself still exists. Perhaps a historical note could be added if a reliable reference can be found. -- 82.32.198.178 (talk) 11:41, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
